Marcel Jansen, az írországi University College Cork biológiaprofesszora, a PTE új díszdoktora tart előadást tudományos pályafutásáról és legfrissebb kutatási eredményeiről.

„Duckweed (Lemnaceae); from green nuisance weed to hero of the circular economy”

A prezentáció bemutatja, hogyan alkalmazható a békalencse az eutrofizálódott vizek kármentesítésére, és miként válhatnak ezen apró vízinövények segítségével a szennyvizek értékes erőforrássá. Betekintést nyerhetünk abba is, milyen kihívásokkal jár a laboratóriumi kísérletek felskálázása, valamint gazdaságos és fenntartható ipari alkalmazássá tétele.

Marcel Jansen, Professor of Biology at University College Cork (Ireland) and newly inaugurated Honorary Doctor of our University, will discuss his scientific career and present his latest research findings.

"Duckweed (Lemnaceae); from green nuisance weed to hero of the circular economy"

The presentation will explore how duckweed can be utilized for the remediation of eutrophicated waters and how these tiny aquatic plants can transform our perception of wastewater into a valuable resource. Furthermore, the lecture will provide insights into the challenges of upscaling laboratory experiments into viable, large-scale, and sustainable circular economy applications.
