Degree Ceremony - 5th of July 2026
Dear Graduates,
The Faculty of Science of the University of Pécs invites you and your relatives to our graduation ceremony.
Date of the ceremony: 5th of July 2026 (Sunday), 11:00 AM,
Venue: Faculty of General Medicine (Szigeti út 12.) Aula (Dr. Romhányi György great hall). Students are kindly requested to arrive by 9 a.m., gathering in front of the entrance to the Hall. Dressing and taking your seats are about an hour and a half.
The maximum number of people present at the ceremony at one time is 800, 200 are graduates sand 600 are related. Thus, 3-3 main guests can take part in the ceremony with each graduate. We can accept the application of the first 200 graduates
Applying to attend the graduation ceremony:
Students - who successfully defended their theses and passed the final closing exam - will receive their diploma in a gown (special robe, cap, gloves), the rental fee for the robe is HUF 7,500, which must be paid via Neptun by 28th of June 2026, 23:59 PM (CEST) at the latest. Transcribe the item in your Neptun and pay it. Paying the fee serves as the registration itself to attend the graduation ceremony.

Relatives and guests can only enter the ceremony with a ticket. 3 tickets can be taken per student for relatives. They can be picked up at The Front Office of the RO, A218, between 29th of June - 3rd of July, during the opening hours (from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.) or before the ceremony. Tickets can be picked up by the student.
For those who do not participate in the event, the Registrar's Office shall send their degree via post, or you can come and pick up the degree at the RO.
Dress code: suitable clothing for the occasion is required under the gown! Required clothing for ladies: suit or dress with closed (front and back) casual shoes, for gentlemen: dark suit, tie, dark shoes with laces. In certain weather conditions, candidates can of course wear lighter clothing other than described in the dress code under the gown!
Before showing you to your seats, you shall take your gown, dress up and sign the official record book of degrees. Seating shall happen in alphabetical order of programmes and its students, and you shall receive your degree during the ceremony in the same order. We kindly ask our students to settle any remaining financial debts toward the university until 30th of June 2026 (exam fees, penalty fees, etc.)
During the event, a professional photographer will take photos of the candidates which will be uploaded to the website, then they can be viewed/printed.

Short Schedule:
- 9.00: Arrival of candidates, Please arrive on time! Gathering in entrance of the front door, administrative steps
- 9.00-11.00: Dressing up, taking seats (list of students considering their study programs)
- 11 óra: Entrance of the Presidency, Anthem, Opening speech
- Student speech (1)

After the ceremony, you have got an half hour (30 minutes) to be photographed in the gown, then please take off the dresses at the place where they were picked up.
The process of calculating the Grade Point Average:
For BSc graduates:
The degree's grade is calculated as the average of three components, as follows:
- the simple mathematical average of the student’s weighted semester averages (with 60% significance)
- the grade received for the student’s thesis (with 10% significance)
- and the grade received on the student’s final exam (with 30% significance)
For MSc graduates:
The degree's grade is calculated as the average of three components, as follows:
- the simple mathematical average of the student’s weighted semester averages (with 40% significance)
- the grade received for the student’s thesis (with 30% significance)
- and the grade received on the student’s final exam (with 30% significance)
