Description of the program:

The aim of the Applied Mathematics master program is to train professionals who have well-grounded mathematical and informational knowledge in a theoretical and practical way. They are able to gain knowledge in industrial, commercial, agricultural, logistics, communication, finance and computer science issues to be used for analysis, modeling, and finding a solution for them. Furthermore, the best ones are able to keep going on in doctoral-level training and deepen their skills and knowledge.

Admission requirements:

  • Demonstrated evidence of an adequate level of English proficiency. Certified B2 intermediate English knowledge
  • CV in English
  • Transcript of previous studies (and their English translation)
  • Motivation letter (introduction plus field of interest, etc.) from 3000 to 3500 characters
  • The payment receipt of the application fee of 140 €
  • Medical certificate, vaccination card (showing that you are immunized against HEP B and HIV test)
  • Obtained BSc degree as follows:
Mathematics BSc Full credit value counting. No extra credit is needed.
In case of any other BSc degree, the enrolment into the master's degree program is conditional A minimum number of 65 credits is needed to enter the Applied Mathematics Master's Study Program from previous studies in algebra, analysis, geometry, set theory, combinatorics, mathematical logic, operation research, number theory, probability computation, and statistics.
Within this, up to 10 credits can be counted that objects are based on other maths knowledge.
If the applicant could not collect 65 credits, it is required for the applicant to have at least 50 credits in the listed areas/subjects based on his/her previous studies. And the missing credits must be obtained and completed during the master's studies as specified in the Code of Studies and Examinations of the University of Pécs.
