Active Seniors Conference held by the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Health Sciences

The Active Elderly Conference was organized jointly by the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Sciences with the support of the Active Hungary Program on September 21, 2023, in the presence of two-hundred participants and
eighteen speakers.

At the conference, which focused on the issues of physical activity of the senior age group, our faculty was represented by four teaching and research colleagues from the Institute of Sports Science and Physical Education: associate professor Dr. Ákos Tóth, senior scientific associate Dr. Tibor Hortobágyi and institute director Dr. Márk Váczi, who gave scientific and informative presentations, as well as assistant professor Dr. Perjés Beatrix Bánkyné, who held a practical session and was also the moderator of the conference.

The lectures inspired us to many innovative ideas, which were especially useful
now. In February 2024 (with a leap semester), we will re-start the recreation master's
program, in which some topics of gerontology and the physical activity of the elderly
will appear. said Dr. Márk Váczi, one of the organizers of the conference.
