Nikolett Renáta Szmolka won a gold medal at the World Combat Games!

Our first-year Sports Management student participated in the World Combat Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia between 20-24 October 2023.

The World Combat Games is an even more prestigious competition than the World Championships. For the 19 participating martial arts, this competition is like the Olympics for Olympic sports. Most recently, it was held in St. Petersburg in 2013. Even qualifying for the race is an extraordinary achievement. The top 8 competitors in each weight class will be given the opportunity from eight different countries.

From Hungary, 18 competitors were present in 9 sports. With six gold, two silver and four bronze medals, the Hungarian team finished 10th in the medal table among 120 countries. In grappling, there were three Hungarian competitors who won a total of two gold medals.
