New type of Residence Permit after graduation

Students who are going to graduate and obtain a degree this summer they will be eligible to apply for an extension of Residence Permit for the Purpose of Job-searching.

A residence permit for the purpose of job-searching or entrepreneurship may be issued to a third-country national:

  • who is in possession of a valid residence permit for the purpose of research and able to prove the completion of the research activity, or
  • who is in possession of a valid residence permit for the purpose of studies and able to prove the successful completion of studies,

if able to meet the conditions set out by law, and the employment he/she is seeking or the business he/she is in the process of setting up corresponds to the level of research or of studies completed.

A residence permit for the purpose of job-searching or entrepreneurship may be issued for a period of 9 months from the date of submission of the application and may not be extended for the purpose of job-searching or entrepreneurship.
