First-rate scientific results from researchers of the Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences

The Cambridge University Press, a leading European palaeontology journal, has published a paper of Dr László Bujtor lecturer and researcher of the Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences and his research partner, Dr Attila Vörös, a Széchenyi Prize Scientist.

The paper "New kingenoid (Terebratellidina) brachiopods..." describes three new species having international relevance. The importance of the research is that the researchers discovered new species of fossil Brachiopoda revealing unique characters from a rare, 125 million years old environment. Hungarian scientists publish for the first time in this internationally acknowledged Cambridge paper.
